Paddyman, real name Declan O'Sullivan, was born and raised in Co Kildare, Ireland.
I started playing music in the pubs with my father aged 15. It was there I learned the importance of building a repertoire of songs.
“For me it's all about connecting with the audience, I play songs people want to hear. And then surprise them with a few unique stories and songs that make them go WOW!”
For more than 25 years I have worked at building that repertoire. "I'm constantly writing and collecting songs that connect with audiences.” Some are serious, such as putting music to Luke Kelly's poem, For What Died the Sons of Roisin. And others are just for the laugh, such as my version of Gangnam Style (Irish Paddy Style).
In 2011, I decided to dedicate all my time to my musical passion. This resulted in new recordings, and hundreds of live gigs in pubs and festivals across the Middle East, Europe, North America & Asia.
2019 will see the release of two new albums:
Paddyman: Live in Dubai
One for the Road.
Both albums are a mix of original songs and his favourite covers.
